Community Food and Toiletries Drive – November 15 to December 17, 2021
Join the Decatur Youth Council in Providing Food to Neighbors in Need this Holiday Season
The DYC will be collecting food and toiletries for distribution to the Decatur-area Emergency Assistance Ministry (DEAM), the Decatur Cooperative Ministry (DCM) and Free99Fridge from November 15 to December 17.
We have divided up the City into four neighborhood zones using the railroad and main north-south roads as boundaries in an effort to spur some healthy competition and community pride among neighborhoods. The neighborhood zone that donates the most goods (in pounds) will win bragging rights for being an awesome community helper. The zones and distribution locations are as follows:
- NORTHWEST – Decatur Police Department, 420 W. Trinity Place
- NORTHEAST – Fire Station #1, 230 E. Trinity Place
- SOUTHWEST – Fire Station #2, 356 W. Hill Street
- SOUTHEAST – Decatur Public Works, 2635 Talley Street
ALL ZONES MAY ALSO DROP OFF DONATIONS AT Decatur City Hall, 509 N. McDonough Street. Look for the bright red or gray barrels to drop off donations. NOTE – Barrels will be moved inside overnight.
