Dec 11: Trees Atlanta/Decatur Legacy Park Invasive Plant Removal

Saturday, December 11; 9am-12 noon

Trees Atlanta/Decatur Legacy Park Invasive Plant Removal

Invasive Removal Project – Legacy Park

Saturday December 11, 9:00AM-12:00PM
And every 2nd Saturday of every month

Project description:  Manual removal of invasive vines and plants from the park.
Meeting location: Parking lot to the side of the big administration building, 500 South Columbia Drive, Decatur, GA, 30030. For exact directions, see our events page at https://www.treesatlanta.org/get-involved/events/

For our forest restoration projects we are out in densely vegetated areas. There will be bugs and there will be dirt, so plan accordingly. We recommend wearing long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. Our projects include removal of exotic invasive plants and replanting of native species.  Tools, gloves, and instruction for these projects will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own if you have a preference.

Trees Atlanta will need all the help and community support we can get here at Legacy Park. Attending one of our volunteer events is a great place to start. However, we need people to get the word out about our efforts. Do you know someone who might be interested in volunteering? Are you part of an organization that may want to partner and collaborate with Trees Atlanta? We would love to hear from you.
