Mar 10: Refining Ideas for United Methodist Children’s Home property

Saturday, March 10; 2-5pm; United Methodist Children’s Home property

Refining Ideas for UMCH

For each workshop, the project team will get everyone on the same page with an initial summary of information to-date — ideas collected at the kick-off, significant aspects of the site, and the general physical characteristics we have to work with.

(Note: this workshop will begin with further opportunity to tour the campus, including some key buildings open for viewing. If you missed our four-hour kick-off, this option offers a second chance to explore.)

Thereafter, we’ll break into table discussions to drill down on and map various ideas and explore how each might contribute to or otherwise further Decatur’s strategic goals.

We’ll end with an opportunity to ask questions, share the outcomes of our conversations and, if need be, affix additional ideas to our imagination boards.

Make plans now to attend. We hope to see you there.

This year we will even have a solar panel display truck!

Ride the train! This year’s Touch a Truck event will be held in the East Lake MARTA station NORTH lot. We encourage visitors to ride the train to the event and make this a family field trip!

Register your bike!  We encourage folks to ride their bike to the event to have it registered by the Decatur Police Department. All those who ride their bike to the event will also receive a special bike pin!

Food Drive! March is National Nutrition Month, a campaign that focuses attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. When you come to Touch-A-Truck, join in the effort by bringing any canned or non-perishable food item. All items will be delivered to DEAM, Decatur Emergency Assistance Ministry.

Touch-a-Truck takes place in the East Lake MARTA station NORTH parking lot on DeKalb Avenue. Parking is limited so consider riding the train, walking or biking to the event.
